About Us

Our Purposes...

1. To serve the bands by providing assistance and support, setting a good example, and furnishing the directors with student leadership.
2. To help build and maintain the finest band program possible, and to increase the quality of the bands in the department and the University.
3. To develop and utilize leadership and organizational skills in our members by planning and executing activities to support the band.
4. To increase social interaction among band members by promoting an enthusiastic and rewarding atmosphere.
5. To provide a means for band members to communicate with collegiate bands throughout the country.
6. To encourage the expansion of brotherhood, sisterhood, and the social interaction among members of the combined chapters by promoting an enthusiastic and rewarding atmosphere.

Our Chapter

Membership in Tau Beta Sigma is open to any student who is a member of one or more bands at SDSU. To become a member, the student must go through a membership education process which educates members on the purposes, ideals, and policies of the group. Like any good Greek organization, we have rituals and other exciting activities, but we are not generally considered to be part of the Greek System at SDSU. We also have a very strict anti-hazing and anti-substance abuse policy in effect at all times.
