Tau Beta Sigma - Zeta Xi

The Zeta Xi chapter of Tau Beta Sigma, the National Honorary Band Sorority, is an integral part of the band program here at San Diego State University, and is the local manifestation of a nationwide network of Sisters dedicated to the promotion and service of band music in the Nation's colleges and universities.

Our primary purpose is to serve the University Bands and to help develop leadership and enthusiasm among the band members. We help students to develop friendships and a deeper bond with other band members, both within SDSU and with other schools across the country. We also function as an honor society, recognizing outstanding band members through the privilege of membership.

Throughout the football season, we do a variety of things to help the Marching Aztecs, including: copying music, distributing uniforms, setting up and tearing down the field equipment, and planning fun activities for band members throughout the semester. For the Wind Symphony and Concert bands, we help with moving equipment, and often host receptions for the audience following performances.

Website updates coming!

There will be a number of changes to the website coming this Winter, as we go through our first major redesign since, I don't know... the early 2000's :)

If you have suggestions or comments, please send them to the Webmaster. We're looking specifically for new color schemes, layouts, photos, and ways of making the site more useful as both a resource and "destination".

Along with this, you may notice some funky breakage over the next month as things go live. Bear with us. :)

Band Camp

Hi everyone!! Hope everyone's summer is going well. Just a reminder that the Marching Aztec Band Camp starts soon. Here's the dates and themes for that week. Band camp will run from 8am to 4pm.

Friday August 22 - Color Guard and Drumline tryouts
Monday August 25 - First Day of Band Camp. For the actives please wear letters if you have them. We will be going bowling later that night.
Tuesday August 26 - Mismatch Day, swimming, and Boomers
Wednesday August 27 - High School Band Day, swimming, and Scavenger Hunt/dinner
Thursday August 28 - Pajama Day, swimming, and laser tag
Friday August 29 - Super Hero/Villain Day, swimming, and bonfire
Saturday August 30 - first football game against Cal Poly
